Hey! I finally got it together to get my French Fridays with Dorie post up on time! This week it was a fairly simple and straightforward Asparagus Soup. I added a little dried dill to mine and also some extra garlic.
Not much to say about this, it was pretty tasty. And, in usual soup fashion, it seemed to be even more flavorful the next day. Want the recipe? Go buy Around my French Table by Dorie Greenspan, silly! On the top, I drizzled a little olive oil and added a few chopped arugula leaves for color.
Okay, my photos below and here’s a link to everyone’s posts.
Apropos of nothing — listening to music on shuffle while posting. Random lyric: “I’d say you were within your rights to bite the right one and say, what kept you so long?”
Yours look so creamy! Lovely pics by the way.
Ha – good random lyric.
There wasn’t a lot to say about this soup – other than it was good.
If I had to judge, based on the picture you took vs. my sad pot of soup, I’d have thought we used two different recipes! Yours is beautiful!
Yeah, not much to say about this one from my viewpoint as well. It was fine…but needed a little more oomph 🙂
lynnlly: Thank you! 🙂
Cher: Exactly. It was good, but pretty much just asparagus soup.
Eileen: Thanks! You know sometimes, we all wind up with a sad pot of soup. I’m sure it will be my turn soon enough 😉
Liz: It did need more oomph!
It was a success here, too. Not much more to say!
Yes, this was a good one. What did you serve on the side? Toasts with goat cheese? Looks tasty too.
Teresa: Thanks!
Betsy: Oh, the best thing — a dip made from feta cheese, some Greek yogurt, a little Dijon mustard and a bit of dried dill! omg – so good. Spread on little pieces of toasted Dave’s Killer Bread Peace Bomb mini-baguette.
Your soup looks delicious. I’m also proud of you for actually following directions (I didn’t). The oil on top looks especially delicious. I’m having my leftovers cold today (it’s already hot in AZ) – maybe a little chili oil? I did have mine hot originally, along with some home made corn muffins. Pretty yummy. Hey, I just noticed… “Dave’s Killer Bread Peace Bomb” now another thing I need to check out!!
wow, love your use of olive oil! your the second one I’ve seen to do that and now I want to try it…!! : ) Great job and lovely photos! I see you have changed your header photos as well, they are lovely!
