I'm Gonna Need a Nap

We’re having another donor dinner next Thursday night for work and guess who’s cooking for 25+ people again? Yeah, me. Although this time, it’s a lasagna party which will be much, much easier. I’m making the lasagnas (a butternut squash one and a traditional meat one) the day before. Hey — does anyone know if you can use no-boil noodles when you are making it a day ahead? Do they get funky if they sit in the sauce in the fridge for a day?

Although, I am working from home next Wednesday making everything, so I guess if I have to boil 60 noodles it’s really no big deal — except that it is, as boiling lasagna noodles kind of sucks…

Anyway, there’ll also be appetizers of some sort and a mango tart (probably with the mango-buttermilk filling I made for SHF15), dark chocolate tart (like SHF13, only with a regular tart crust), possibly a white chocolate & green tea tart and a cheesecake (that one I will buy).

So, next week will be a lot of lasagna posts, dessert posts and general freaking out posts. Yay!

  1. Please please please don’t use no-boil noodles! The savings in time and effort just isn’t worth it!

  2. Yeah, ChefPDX, I’m leaning towards just going ahead and using normal, you-have-to-boil-them noodles.
    I’m basically working at home Wednesday during the day making everything, so it’s really not too bad to just go ahead use the regular noodles.
    Now, if I had to do all this Wednesday night on my own time? No-boil, ahoy! 🙂
